Woman identified after being struck by vehicle on Dixie Highway Friday night

Police added all parties stayed at both scenes.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — A woman’s identity has been released after she was struck by a vehicle Friday night.

The Jefferson County Coroner’s Office said 47-year-old Yashica Wiley died from blunt force injuries.

Police responded to the area of Dixie Highway and Fury Way around 6:20 p.m. She was taken to the hospital where she died a short time later.

The said the driver of the vehicle that hit Wiley remained on the scene.

Metro Police are also investigating a separate incident that left another person critically injured.

In the area of the Watterson Expressway eastbound near Taylor Boulevard, police said a man was hit by a car.

In their preliminary investigation, police said the car was switching lanes to pass another car and didn’t see a man standing in the roadway.

He was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.

LMPD’s Traffic Unit is investigating both crashes.
