LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Hospital officials confirmed around 20 cars were broken into while parked in the hospital parking on Monday.
WHAS11 reached out to the Louisville Metro Police Department who says their Telephone Reporting Unit (TRU) took five reports from victims "regarding theft, attempted theft, or vandalism to autos at 2020 Newburg Road."
They say those reports will be assigned to LMPD’s Fifth Division Detectives Squad for them to review and begin their investigations.
"We do encourage those who may have been a victim to call 574-5673 and file a report with our Telephone Reporting Unit or they can go online to the link and file themselves," they said.
The University of Louisville Hospital released this statement about the break-ins:
"Approximately 20 vehicles were broken into during the heavy rain Monday while parked at Peace Hospital. Increased security measures have been implemented. Any additional questions should be directed toward the Louisville Metro Police Department, which is handling the investigation."
