Annual Cherokee Triangle Art Fair brings crowds to Highlands neighborhood

The annual Cherokee Triangle Art Fair was the centerpiece of the neighborhood all weekend.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) – It’s ranked as one of the top 100 shows in the country and it calls Kentuckiana home.

The annual Cherokee Triangle Art Fair was the centerpiece of the neighborhood all weekend.

From plants to paintings, this show truly offers a little something for everybody -- including jewelry, music, food, children's games, and even puppeteers.

The show is the major fundraiser for the Cherokee Triangle Association, which uses it to fund activities in the neighborhood.

Organizers say there are more than a few reasons that make it so special.

"It's the perfect setting. You've got these different streets here, and these wonderful trees. You have landowners who have sacrificed their property for this weekend. It's a neighborhood fundraiser, but it's also a community event that everybody takes pride in," Chairman Fred Holden said.

More than 200 artists were selected for this year's show.

The show brings in an estimated 40,000 people between the two days.
