6 UofL students displaced after large apartment fire; How to help

The university is now working with them to find temporary long-term housing.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — After a fire destroyed an apartment complex on Monday, a University of Louisville spokesperson confirmed six of the people displaced were students.

They're now working with them to find temporary long-term housing.

The university has also provided the students with food vouchers from Kroger, and vouchers for emergency supplies.

The fire at the 310 @ NuLu apartment complex was first reported around 6:15 a.m. Monday morning. Flames and heavy smoke could be seen from outside of the building, and from the skyline of downtown Louisville.

Louisville Fire Captain Donovan Sims said the awning was on fire when crews arrived. No injuries were reported, but several people were helped out of the complex.

Anyone who wishes to help the students can click this link to find out how.
