Army Corps of Engineers proposes moving into LG&E Center in downtown Louisville

The Army Corps of Engineers said the building has state of the art facilities, a modern working environment and a centralized location.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — The Louisville District of the United States Army Corps of Engineers has proposed moving into one of downtown Louisville's office buildings.

They proposed making 220 West Main Street their future headquarters. The building there is also known as the LG&E Center.

The Army Corps of Engineers said the building has state of the art facilities, a modern working environment and a centralized location.

The district is still negotiating a lease for the space; the group will move in once that lease agreement is in place and the facility is remodeled to fit their needs.

LG&E announced in 2023 they would be moved out of the building by 2025.

The company has been at 220 West Main Street for over 30 years, and they currently have 14 floors in the building.
