LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) – Now that plans for a methane plant in West Louisville are off the table, Heaven Hill has announced new plans for the property at 17th and Maple Streets in the California neighborhood.
The distillery says bourbon is such a hot commodity that they will add capacity to meet production demand.
Two new warehouses will be built in Nelson County with construction starting in March while Heaven Hill will invest more than $15 million in the 17th Street facility to expand.
STAR Bioenergy and Heaven Hill pulled the proposed bio-digester project in January to the relief of many West Louisville residents who were worried about the environmental impact.
