LOUISVILLE, Ky. — One of the headline performers for Bourbon and Beyond 2024 has dropped out, according to festival officials.

Neil Young was set to perform at the music festival on Thursday, Sept. 19. However, Young and his team announced they have postponed their upcoming performances after getting ill while on tour.

"When a couple of us got sick after Detroit's Pine Knob, we had to stop. We are still not fully recovered, so sadly [the Love Earth Tour] will have a big unplanned break," Young shared in a statement. "We will try to play some of the dates we miss as time passes when we are ready to rock again! We know many of you made travel plans and we apologize for the inconvenience. Thanks for your understanding and patience. Health is #1."

According to festival organizers, a replacement act is expected to be announced sometime in the coming weeks.

Bourbon and Beyond will take over the Highland Festival Grounds at the Kentucky Expo Center from Sept. 19 through Sept. 22.

More than 100 artists are scheduled to perform on the full lineup with Zach Bryan, Dave Matthews Band and Tyler Childers headlining the other days.
