Cannons Lane sidewalk project to begin June 10

For three to four months, the federally funded project will add 3,000 feet of sidewalk on the street’s western side, a new curb and gutter system and drainage pipes.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — A new sidewalk project on Cannons Lane will impact motorists for the next few months.

The federally funded project will add 3,000 feet of sidewalk on the street’s western side, a new curb and gutter system and drainage pipes.

Metro Public Works said southbound Cannons Lane from Willis Avenue to Winchester Road will be detoured to Willis Avenue to Breckenridge Lane to Winchester Road and back to Cannons Lane at Winchester.

The northbound lane will stay open at reduced speed from 35 to 25 miles per hour.

The detour will remain for the three to four month duration of the project.

In the meantime, they are asking motorists to be mindful of workers and to slow down in construction zones.
