City Hall clock lit in honor of fallen LMPD detective Diedre Mengedoht

The clock will shine in honor of the detective who was killed on Christmas Eve.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — City Hall Clock will shine in honor of fallen LMPD Detective Diedre Mengedoht until her funeral services.

“Detective Mengedoht was a dedicated public servant to our city and we ask the community to come together and when they look at the City Hall Clock take note of her service and dedication,” said City Council President David James.

A seven year veteran of the LMPD, Detective Mengedoht of the LMPD 2nd Division was killed on Christmas Eve during a routine traffic stop on I-64 when a MSD semi-truck hit her cruiser with her inside.

The driver of that semi-truck, Rodger D. Burdette, allegedly failed a field sobriety test and admitted to officers that he had taken multiple prescription drugs. Burdette is due in court in January.
