CLARKSVILLE, Ind. — An employee at Clarksville High School was removed from the building on Tuesday after allegations of misconduct were reported to the district, officials said.
In a letter to parents, Clarksville Community Schools Superintendent Tina Bennett said once the allegations were known, the male teacher was removed from the building. Officials said he also resigned and is no longer employed by the district.
Bennett did not provide any further information, however she said the allegations of misconduct were reported to the Indiana Department of Child Services and the Clarksville Police Department.
On Wednesday, a district spokesperson said an investigation into the validity of the claims against the teacher is being handled by the Clarksville Police Department.
“We will continue to fully cooperate with any investigation being conducted by authorities,” Bennett said. “We want to assure you that the safety of our students remains our number one priority, and as a school district we do not condone any form of inappropriate behavior.”
If any parents or students have any concerns about the incident, Bennett said the school district is available to provide support.
