CLARKSVILLE, Ind. — A Clarksville man was arrested on Monday for child pornography and solicitation charges, according to a press release from the Indiana State Police (ISP).
They say from March 2022 until July 2024, ISP got 14 cyber tips from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC).
Those tips interconnected through common names, IP addresses, phone numbers and other identifying information to find a suspect.
During the same time period, a Florida police department was investigating a case related to a child in Gainesville.
ISP and the Gainesville Police Department learned they were dealing with the same man.
On Monday, 20-year-old Dekari Gaines was arrested after a search warrant was conducted in his home in Clarksville. He was arrested without incident.
Gaines is charged with Child Exploitation / Child Pornography, Level 5 Felony, Child Solicitation, Level 6 Felony, Inappropriate Communication with a Child, Class A Misdemeanor.
He is currently being held at the Clark County Jail.
