The office says two shootings in November and December where officers shot suspects were justified.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — The Commonwealth’s Attorney’s Office has ruled two 2023 shootings by Louisville Metro Police as justified.

On Nov. 13, police said Officer O’Sha Rogers shot suspect Jaron Bobbitt when he pointed an assault-style pistol at officers.

It happened on Camden Avenue in the Wyandotte neighborhood during a domestic violence call.

Bobbitt survived the shooting and facing charges including assault and evading police.

The other incident happened on Dec. 8 on South Fourth Street near Churchill Downs.

Investigators said suspect Marvin Smith ran from a traffic stop with a gun.

When he didn’t drop the weapon, police said Sgt. Joshua Arnwine shot him.
