LOUISVILLE, Ky (WHAS11) -- As the skies clear up this weekend runners from all over are converging in Louisville for the third and final part of the Triple Crown run.
The Papa John's 10 Mile run kicked off Saturday morning and with it came sunny skies and some chilly temperatures. WHAS 11's Reed Yadon was there and talked about the run and the weather.
Also participating in the race was a familiar face. Asia Ford made headlines two weeks ago when she was photographed arm-in-arm with Lt. Aubrey Gregory crossing the finish line at the Rhodes City Run.
Ford was motivated to participate in the marathons after dedicating herself to becoming healthier. After noticing good results, Ford decided to do the Rhodes City Run in March.
That one photo made the rounds and was seen all across the nation garnering much attention, especially on social media sites where the photo first appeared.
Close to 6500 runners, including Ford, signed up for this years Papa John's 10 Miler. All of the proceeds will be going to the Crusade for Children.
