(WHAS 11)--A massive donation for the Dare to Care food bank came from students at Kammerer Middle School.
The Beta Club sponsored a canned goods drive that brought in more than 10,000 cans.
It's a tradition tied to the Hunger Games movie star Jennifer Lawrence attended Kammerer.
This year students also held a Penny War collecting more than 700 dollars in change.
The spirit of giving has been catching on during a competition between homerooms.
