(WHAS 11)--The 4 young men who were wrongly accused in a violent spree in downtown Louisville are speaking out about their settlement with the city.
They are known as the Misidentified 4 and settled with the city of Louisville for $1.5 million dollars.
They were accused of attacking people during mob violence downtown last March.
Two of the 4 men spent two months in jail.
The other 2 were on house arrest before finally being cleared of the charges.
Police have now said their suspect identification procedures were not followed and the officers involved will be retrained.
The men and their attorneys will all split the settlement money.
The men say they want to use it to settle bills and further their education.
Louisville Mayor Greg Fischer publicly apologized to them yesterday.
