Man accused of sexual assault in downtown Louisville gets continuance in Indiana case

Daralle Oliver is in Indiana on separate charges.

CLARK COUNTY, Ind. — The man accused of sexually assaulting four women in Louisville appeared in a southern Indiana courtroom on Monday.

Louisville Metro Police (LMPD) issued a “duty to warn” for 38-year-old Daralle Oliver on Friday. Authorities said he made "homicidal and suicidal threats" after sexually assaulting "several women" downtown.

The department said they increased its presence in the downtown area with marked and unmarked vehicles, especially near the hospital corridor.

Within 45 minutes of LMPD posting the warning on social media, the Jeffersonville Police Department (JPD) arrested him for other offenses.

His appearance in the Clark County Courtroom was to hear those charges.

However, the state asked for a continuance.

"Your honor, the state is reviewing the information, and is asking for a 72-hour continuance," a state prosecutor said.

Judge Lisa Glickfield granted that continuance.

"Mr. Oliver, sounds like the state needs more time to figure out what, if any, charges will be filed,” Glickfield told Oliver. “They have up to 72 hours in the state of Indiana, so I'm going to grant the state's motion."

Oliver will be back in court on Wednesday, Sept. 11 at 1:30 p.m. The state and judge both agreed to keep his bond at $10,000 cash only.

It's unclear when Oliver will be extradited back to Louisville.
