LEXINGTON, Ky. (WHAS11) – Prom season is just around the corner in Kentuckiana but not everyone can afford to buy a fancy dress and accessories for their big night.
Green Castle Baptist Church is stepping up to help out.
They have been collecting dresses and several Waggener High School students got to go shopping.
There were dresses of all colors and sizes, plus shoes, jewelry and accessories.
"Well it's a different experience, I've never done anything like this before. I love the fact that I found a dress cause it's hard finding dresses, especially pricing and all that and this is a really good opportunity to come to. I'm really grateful I got to come here," Tiara Biermacher, Waggener High School Junior said.
The girls don't have to pay for the items but the church asks them to continue the cycle and re-donate the items for girls to wear next year.
