The 100th Dosker Manor resident is officially moving out, and she's thrilled about it.

The Louisville Metro Housing Authority (LMHA) made the decision to demolish the complex after years of residents complaining about poor living conditions.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — The 100th person moved out of Dosker Manor and into Sheppard Square on Friday.

The Louisville Metro Housing Authority (LMHA) made the decision to demolish the complex after years of residents complaining about poor living conditions.

They started moving people out in August.

Joyce Mason, the 100th person to move out, is thrilled.

"I'm happy, you know what, it seems kind of surreal because I waited for so long and I was like, 'is it really happening?'" she said. "But I'm really glad, I'm really excited."

More than 500 people lived in Dosker Manor at one point; back in August, LMHA said their goal was to have everyone moved out within 12 to 18 months.

LMHA said it's been having discussions with Dosker Manor tenants and staff to find out what they would like to see replace the facility once it is torn down.

However, Metro Housing is still seeking federal approval to demolish it.
