LOUISVILLE, Ky. — One person is dead and another is injured after a fatal car crash Thursday night in Louisville's Taylor-Berry neighborhood.
At about 10 p.m., Louisville Metro Police responded to Algonquin Parkway and Winkler Avenue to investigate a single-vehicle collision with injuries, according to an LMPD news release.
Officers on scene found a car that had struck a tree while attempting to turn from Algonquin Parkway onto Winkler Avenue.

The passenger of the vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene and the driver has minor injuries, authorities say.
Investigators believe the passenger of the car was not wearing a seatbelt. "Seatbelts save lives, please wear one anytime you are in a vehicle," LMPD's news release said.
LMPD's Traffic Unit is handling the investigation.
