LMPD: Motorcyclist dies weeks after crashing into guardrail in south Louisville

Another motorcyclist was also seriously injured in the crash.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Weeks after a serious motorcycle crash in south Louisville, authorities said one of the victims has died in the hospital.

The Louisville Metro Police Department's (LMPD) Third Division responded to the crash on Greyling Drive and Lambourne Boulevard around 5:20 a.m. on Tuesday, May 7.

Authorities said two motorcyclists were following each other when the first motorcyclist lost control of his vehicle and struck a guardrail, causing it to overturn. The second driver attempted to keep his motorcycle under control but was unable to and crashed, also overturning.

Both men were transported to the University of Louisville Hospital with life-threatening injuries.

On Monday, LMPD said the first motorcyclist died in the hospital on May 21.

The man's identity has not been released at this time.
