'We do this at least three or four days a week': 'Feed the West Kiosk' gives out free groceries

The organization Change Today, Change Tomorrow hosts the event.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Volunteers helped hand out food to families on Wednesday who need a little more help this holiday season.

It's part of the "Feed the West Kiosk," which gives out free groceries to anyone who needs it.

The organization Change Today, Change Tomorrow puts it on.

Volunteers like Shareka Smith said there's no requirements needed to be eligible for help.

"Peace to know if you feed one family, you're helping somebody," she said. "And as you see there's a lot of people out here today. We do this at least three or four days a week, if you can feed one family you're gonna feed at least 20."

Smith said most of the groceries come from Trader Joes, which provides fresh, organic groceries.

Another giveaway will be held on Thursday at noon at 717 South 24 Street.
