LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Louisville Metro Police (LMPD) is investigating after a man was fatally hit by a vehicle on Fern Valley Road on Monday.
LMPD said officers were called to the 2900 block of Fern Valley Road shortly after 6 p.m. on reports of a person being hit by a vehicle.
According to LMPD's preliminary investigation, a man wearing dark clothing tried to cross Fern Valley Road when he was hit by the vehicle traveling eastbound.
The vehicle stopped a short distance away and called 911, then stayed until first responders arrived police said. They cooperated with the investigators on scene as well.
Authorities said first responders transported the man to the hospital where he later died.
