LOUISVILLE, Ky. — A Jefferson County elementary school is left without a playground after a fire destroyed it on July 11.
Jefferson County firefighters responded to Blake Elementary in Okolona around noon. When they arrived, they found the playground and a nearby tree on fire.
Crews were able to put out the fire, and the school building was not damaged.
It is not clear what caused the fire, but JCPS believes it was arson.
Louisville Metro Arson is now investigating.
