Former UofL players file lawsuit against NCAA

At least two players, Luke Hancock and Tim Henderson, will be part of a news conference July 11 announcing the lawsuit.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) -- A lawsuit was filed against the NCAA, on July 11, that has to do with the 2013 championship banner being taken away.

At least two players, Luke Hancock and Tim Henderson, are apart the lawsuit. John Morgan with Morgan and Morgan is representing the players.

The NCAA ruled the 2013 championship banner had to come down after the escort sex scandal. Wins also had to be vacated.

Local attorney Steve Romines said the players have a legitimate grievance but their lawsuit should probably be against the University of Louisville.

During the announcement of the lawsuit, John Morgan talked about how the NCAA is punishing the players and exploiting young athletes

Luke Hancock said he is asked all the time about the scandal at the university.
