LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11)- A Louisville mother charged with shooting and killing her two children in 2008 has changed her plea to guilty.

Gail Coontz pleaded guilty just one week before she was set to stand trial.

Coontz pleaded guilty to murdering her 14-year-old son and 10-year-old daughter in March of 2008.

The plea includes two counts of murder and one count of tampering with physical evidence.

She also entered an Alford plea related to threatening a therapist at U of L after the shootings.

When the judge read her sentence, she only said 'ok.'

Coontz would have faced a trial starting one week from Friday, but instead was sentenced to life in prison without parole for 25 years.
