LOUISVILLE, Ky. — A few hundred gallons of Heaven Hill whiskey was lost Monday morning after a power outage at one of the distiller's facilities.
According to a company spokesperson, there was a power outage at Heaven Hill's Bernheim Facility in Louisville around 9:45 a.m. The outage caused several alarms to go off at the building.
Louisville Fire Department officials determined the cause of the outage was from work being done by an independent contractor and the facility was given the "all-clear" around 11 a.m.
No injuries were reported and there was no fire, however the outage caused "a few hundred" gallons of whiskey to spill.
The spill is being monitored by MSD, however there is "no cause for concern" to the surrounding areas, officials said.
