Father Jospeh Hemmerle pleaded guilty in May to abusing a boy in the 1970s. He was sentenced to two years in prison in the case, but Hemmerle was already serving a seven-year sentence for a 2016 conviction for abusing a different boy in the 1970s.

Both victims said they were abused by Hemmerle at a summer camp in Meade County. Hemmerle ran the camp for decades.

The board voted to give Hemmerle a 24-month deferment, which means they will reconsider his case in two years.
