Horse euthanized after suffering injury at World's Championship Horse Show

Officials with the Kentucky State Fair are calling the incident "isolated."

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — A horse injured during the World’s Championship Horse Show has been euthanized.

According to the Kentucky State Fair, the horse was pulling a small roadster bike behind it and the wheel contacted fencing surrounding the ring Tuesday morning.

Officials say this was an isolated incident in class 100.

The horse was transported to Lexington for a necropsy and determination of initial injuries.

The young rider of the horse was not injured.

Another horse died at the show in 2023 from an aneurysm.

The Kentucky State Fair said classes will continue as planned.

The World’s Championship Horse Show has been held at the Fairgrounds since 1908.
