Hurricane Milton's path set to hit Louisville resident's Florida property

Suzie Kinman waited Hurricane Helene out in her St. Petersburg, Florida condo. Now a second storm has it's eye directly at where her property sits.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Some Louisvillans are watching as Hurricane Milton takes aim at the Tampa, Florida area. They own condos around St. Petersburg, Florida some of which have already taken a beating from Hurricane Helene.

Louisville resident Suzie Kinman is one of several locals who have invested in the condos around Tampa Bay. She and her husband bought their condo around four years ago, and transformed it into their dream home where they can take the family on vacation.

The Kinmans are currently in Louisville and keeping a close eye on Hurricane Milton's path which looks like it could directly hit their property.

"I'm usually never really that worried abut it," Kinman said. "But this one, since I had a sister-in-law get two inches of water, and I have a girl friend down there that had two feet of water, almost three feet, they lost their house and two cars. This one is stressing me out."

Just a few weeks ago, the Kinmans endured Hurricane Helene from the same condo. She shared videos and pictures that show the coastal surge trying to climb over their flood wall.

Once the storm passed, Kinman was able to take some images that show some of the destruction on the coastline.

"We were watching it and we were lucky it just missed us," Kinman said. "The water was 12 inches shy of getting into our place."

Kinman said it was a close call just weeks ago, but all she can do is watch the storm from afar. Regardless what happens to the condo, she said her family plans to travel next week prepared to rebuild.

"We hope that their best guess surge is wrong," Kinman said. "My husband and my son will be flying down there on Monday and I'll be driving down there. So we can take fans and building materials and whatever else we need to take."

Kinman said many of her friends who live in St. Petersburg have already evacuated.
