ELIZABETH, Indiana — Workers at Caesars Southern Indiana say they don't want the company to gamble with their health.
Employees delivered a petition signed by hundreds demanding casino management strictly enforce the mask policy for casino guests. Employees also want to end the current smoking exceptions allowed at the slot machines.
On June 24, Caesars Entertainment Corporation announced a universal mask policy at all its properties.
"We come to work, we do our job proudly. We work for a company that we enjoy working for. I love my job here. I've been here 17 years, but I want to see that all of our coworkers come to work, are able to stay safe, healthy, and not at risk," One casino employee said.
A Caesar's spokesperson says the health and safety of their team members and guests remains their priority.
The company has required guests and team members have their temperatures checked and to wear masks.
Changes have also been made to the casino floor to allow for social distancing.
Caesars officially reopened June 15 at 50% capacity.
