Clark County votes to split West Clark Community Schools

More than 4,900 voted yes while 1,666 voted no on the question during Tuesday's Indiana primary.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Residents in Clark County, Indiana have voted to split the West Clark Community Schools into two districts.

More than 4,900 voted yes while 1,666 voted no during Tuesday's Indiana primary.

Silver Creek, Borden and Henryville have made up the district since the 1960’s and for two years, there has been a fight of how much money is distributed to each school.

Indiana Primary Election Results

Last November, the Indiana State Board of Education approved the plan that would separate Silver Creek from the rest of the district.

The two districts will now be known as the Borden-Henryville and Silver Creek. 

An estimated 4,700 students currently attend West Clark Community Schools.
