SALEM, Indiana — The woman accused of killing her five-year-old son and leaving his body in rural Washington County, stuffed inside a suitcase, is now seeking millions of dollars in a lawsuit claiming her case has been mishandled by the court’s clerk.
Dejaune Anderson, the mother of Cairo Jordan, is suing the Washington County Court Clerk's office for allegedly mishandling her handwritten motions to the courts.
In new motions filed Monday, Anderson is now requesting more than $31 million in alleged damages and losses incurred since her arrest in March.
Anderson provided an itemized list of “expenditures, damages and losses,” which includes more than $30 million alone in journals from her great grandmother and other family members.
The list also includes roughly $60,000 for unpaid rent and utilities for a California apartment.
Anderson is also seeking more than $900,000 in future medical treatment for injuries she claims to have sustained while in jail.
In previous motions, she claims to have been attacked with “Agent Orange,” a chemical used by the U.S. military during the Vietnam War – and said she has lost teeth, muscle mass, and received chemical burns to her throat at the Washington County Jail.
Anderson remains in jail without bond. Her next court appearance is on June 20.
