FLOYD COUNTY, Ind. — A southern Indiana school counselor is facing criminal charges after she was accused of having a sexual relationship with a student.
On Sept. 17, the Jeffersonville Police Department (JPD) was notified by the Indiana Department of Child Services of allegations involving an inappropriate relationship between a counselor and a student.
Investigators believe Floyd Central High School counselor Brittany Eisner, 34, had sex with a juvenile student, as well as provided the child with alcohol and vaping products.
Eisner is charged with two counts of child seduction and contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
The New Albany Floyd County School Board confirmed it fired Eisner on Oct. 14 as a result of the investigation.
District Superintendent Travis G. Madison commended the police department for their investigation.
"To the best of NAFCS' knowledge, none of the unfortunate events surrounding this matter occurred in the school environment," Madison said. "NAFCS will continue to prioritize student safety and cooperate with our law enforcement partners to assure that child abuse is not tolerated in our community."
