Floyd County Health Department donating masks to restaurant owners

The department wants to help restaurant owners keep their employees safe as they prepare to reopen on Monday.

NEW ALBANY, Ind. — As businesses begin to reopen in Indiana, the Floyd County Health Department is helping restaurant owners get the items they need to keep their employees safe.

Restaurants can reopen on Monday, May 11. In anticipation of that opening date, restaurant managers are encouraged to pick up free masks from the health department through the Dining Mask Program. Managers will need to call 812-948-4726 ext. 660 to set up an arranged pickup at the Floyd County Health Department at 1917 Bono Road in New Albany.

“We are donating the masks to facilitate a safer resumption of dining during the start-up for the State,” said Dr. Tom Harris, Floyd County Health Officer. The FCHD is also working with individual establishments to answer questions and address site-specific concerns.

Mask pickup at the Floyd County Health Department will be available on Thursday and Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 3:45 p.m. and on Monday from 8:30 a.m. until noon.

If you are an industry manager, you are encouraged to call 812-948-4726 ext. 660 for more information.
