CHARLESTOWN, Ind. — Hundreds of thousands of lights lit up across Charlestown on Friday, including the town's centerpiece, a giant 55-foot-tall Christmas tree.

But the holiday festivities are just beginning across the river!

Greenway Park is Charlestown's central park and it's where you can see all the twinkling bright lights and the centerpiece tree.

From now until December 15, concessions at Greenway Park will be open on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays from 6 to 10 p.m. while guests stroll the paved paths.

At the Family Activities Park, the Charlestown Express Train returns offering rides to see the city's light displays. Additional train rides will be offered on Dec. 18-20 from 6 to 10 p.m.

The park will also feature a Winter Holiday Market every Thursday through Saturday. Families can also enjoy a holiday-themed mini golf course, write a letter to Santa, or explore the Depot. Train rides and min-golf admission cost $5 per person.

Tickets are sold on-site at the admission window.

Santa visits at the Family Activities Park will be free on Nov. 24, Nov. 30, Dec. 7, Dec. 14, and Dec. 18-19. But watch out! The Grinch will be taking over Santa's chair on Nov. 25, Dec. 1-2, Dec. 8-9, and Dec. 15-16.

At City Square, there will be animated light shows every night from Nov. 25 until Jan. 1 from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. Officials say to tune into 87.9 FM to hear music synced to the light show!
