LOUISVILLE, Ky. — A southern Indiana man has been arrested on charges of alleged child molestation and child exploitation.
Indiana State Police said 37-year-old Waylon Schlichtkrull of Madison was arrested Sunday.
Police said their investigation began on Dec. 31 when they were contacted by a person who discovered evidence of child molestation and child exploitation by Schlichtkrull.
ISP said detectives conducted a “quick and thorough” investigation that also included a search warrant at a rural Jefferson County address. Investigators said evidence indicated Schlichtkrull had engaged in sexual contact with a juvenile female on multiple occasions in the county.
Schlichtkrull was arrested after police observed him driving a vehicle in the area. He was taken into custody during a traffic stop.
Both child molestation and child exploitation are felonies.
Schlichtkrull is currently booked at the Jefferson County Jail awaiting arraignment.
The investigation into the case is ongoing.
