Jeffersonville mother and her three children found safe in Louisville

Jeffersonville police were searching for 34-year-old Kayla Martin, a 4-year-old boy, a 9-year-old girl and an 11-year-old girl who went missing Monday.

JEFFERSONVILLE, Ind. — 10:30 a.m. update: According to Jeffersonville police, the family was found safe in Louisville Tuesday morning.

Police are searching for a missing mother and her three children who were last seen Monday night in Jeffersonville, Indiana.

The Jeffersonville Police Department is asking for the public's help in finding 34-year-old Kayla Martin and her three children, a 4-year-old boy, a 9-year-old girl and an 11-year-old girl. All four family members were reported missing since March 4 at approximately 6 p.m.

Kayla Martin and her children were reportedly last seen leaving their residence on the 1200 block of Birchwood Drive in Jeffersonville on foot. According to police, they headed towards Highland Dog Park on Spruce Drive and have not returned home. Their family does not believe they have access to a vehicle.

Kayla was last seen wearing denim pants, white shoes and a light-colored shirt. The 4-year-old boy was wearing khaki or orange pants, dark shoes, a light-colored shirt and a red hat. The 9-year-old girl was wearing a white or light-colored top and bottoms with white shoes. The 11-year-old girl was wearing dark pants, light shoes and a light-colored shirt.

Jeffersonville police are actively trying to locate these missing persons. Authorities say their family is deeply concerned as this behavior is highly out-of-character for Kayla.
