Woman dies, man injured after 'trike' and car collide in southern Indiana

Police said a tricycle-styled motorcycle and a vehicle collided on US 150 in Fredericksburg Saturday afternoon.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — An Indianapolis woman has been killed and a man severely injured after crash in Washington County.

Indiana State Police said the Saturday crash happened on US 150 between Becks Mill Road and High Street in Fredericksburg, about 30 miles northwest of Louisville.

In their preliminary investigation, ISP believes a red and black Honda tricycle style motorcycle – or trike – was headed east on US 150 approaching Becks Mill Road when a Toyota Corolla pulled out onto US 150 from a driveway on the south side of the road.

ISP said when the Corolla pulled into the highway, the two vehicles collided, throwing both the man and woman off the bike and onto the road.

The bike’s passenger, identified as 67-year-old Theresa Spencer of Indianapolis, died from the impact. The driver, who is from Louisville, suffered “severe but non-life-threatening injuries.” They were taken to UofL Hospital.

The driver of the passenger car had minor injuries and was taken to a hospital in Salem.

ISP said the crash remains under investigation.

They don’t believe drugs or alcohol were factors in the crash.
