Gazebo Festival cancels Sunday performances due to severe weather, refunds issued

Abbey Road on the River and Gazebo Festival had to postpone shows due to the severe weather threat.
Live music will surround the Ohio River this weekend with two major festivals.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — The inaugural Gazebo Festival has canceled its second day of performances due to severe weather on Sunday.

A powerful line of fast-moving storms brought upwards of 63 mph wind gusts to the Louisville-area around noon. One person was killed by a falling tree in east Louisville, authorities said.

With more severe weather expected later Sunday evening, Gazebo Festival organizers made the decision to cancel the remainder of shows. Louisville-native Jack Harlow was set to headline the second day's lineup.

"All Sunday ticket holders will receive a refund in full," organizers said. "All Weekend ticket holders will received a 50% refund. Refunds will be issued within 30 days."

Another music festival across the river in Jeffersonville, Abbey Road on the River, briefly postponed shows on Sunday as well.

Festival spokesperson Ali Hawthorne said although tickets are not refundable, wristbands will be honored for reentry if the start time is pushed back Sunday or if organizers need to reschedule for Monday.

The festival announced it plans to open its gates again with music starting again at 4 p.m. It adds that the Big Four Station Park "has been cleared for guests."

Hawthorne said the venue has 20,000 square-feet of covered space for attendees if rain happens to continue, but attendees will have to evacuate if severe weather picks up again.
