ISP: Two men arrested after 1 lb of meth found in car during traffic stop

JACKSON COUNTY, Ind. — On Nov. 20, ISP arrested two men after a large quantity of suspected meth was located during a traffic stop on I-65 in Jackson Co., Ind.

The incident began when ISP Trooper Randel Miller conducted a traffic stop on a Chevrolet Impala on I-65 Northbound, just north of Crothersville, Indiana. During the traffic stop, Trp. Miller became suspicious that criminal activity was taking place. 

ISP K-9 officer, Jinx, conducted a sweep of the exterior of the vehicle. Jinx alerted to the odor of illegal drugs coming from the vehicle. 

During a search of the vehicle, troopers located a plastic bag containing over 500 grams (over 1 pound) of suspected crystal methamphetamine.

According to ISP, the driver of the vehicle, 37-year-old Zachary Williams of Lafayette, Ind. provided Trooper Miller with a false name. The passenger in the vehicle, 39-year-old Mark A. Sneed of Louisville was also found to be in possession of suspected marijuana. 

Both men were arrested and transported to the Jackson Co. Jail where they are facing numerous charges.

Williams was arrested on charges of Dealing Methamphetamine, Possession of Methamphetamine, False Informing, and Identity Theft. 

Sneed was charged with Dealing Methamphetamine, Possession of Methamphetamine, and Possession of Marijuana.

Both are currently incarcerated in the Jackson Co. Jail.
