LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Louisville Metro Police (LMPD) are investigating after a man was killed in a crash in southwest Jefferson County.
On Tuesday, the Jefferson County Coroner's Office identified the victim as 22-year-old Javin Miller.
According to LMPD, Miller was driving south on Cane Run Road around 1 a.m. Sunday when he lost control of his vehicle and went off the roadway near the intersection of Trade Port Drive, which is west of Pleasure Ridge Park. Police said it appears he overcorrected and cross over into the northbound lanes where his vehicle continued until it crashed into a tree.
A passerby helped Miller get out of the vehicle and stayed on scene until EMS and fire could arrive, police said.
Miller was transported to the University of Louisville Hospital where he later died from his injuries.
LMPD said no other vehicles were involved in the crash and the department's Traffic Unit is handling the investigation.
