Joshua Young, 18, was arrested for assault and wanton endangerment.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) A Louisville teenager once charged in the death of his stepbrother was arrested Saturday after police said he attacked his girlfriend.

Police arrested Young at an apartment complex on Preston Highway. Young is charged with assault and wanton endangerment after allegedly attacking his girlfriend.

Young was acquitted last year for the murder of his stepbrother, Trey Zwicker, who was found beaten to death behind Liberty High School in 2011. Young's father, Josh Gouker, pleaded guilty to killing Zwicker.

'I felt let down after the acquittal that everything I had stood for the last two years was just in vain and I was unwarranted in accusing young man,' Trey Zwicker's father, Terry, said during a phone interview.

Terry Zwicker said he felt the jury got it wrong when they found Young not guilty, but also said he feels justified by the news Young will soon be in court again.

'I was happy. I don't have much in the last four years that I can be happy about, but that was one of them,' Terry said.

According to a citation, the now 18-year-old Young allegedly punched his girlfriend in the stomach hard enough to make her vomit. The citation states he bruised her left arm, choked her with his right hand and held a pillow over her face.

'The good thing for her is that she got to walk away. That man, that little boy, that got acquitted [he] was guilty as sin and got away with murder,' Terry said.

Young is facing assault and wanton endangerment charges. His arraignment is scheduled for Monday.
