FRANKFORT, Ky. — Gov. Andy Beshear, along with many other icons in politics, music, advocacy and more, is on the TIME100 Next list.

According to TIME, the list is made of "individuals who are not waiting long in life to make an impact. Nor are they eager to respect the status quo by following the traditional power structures and pathways that have determined what influence looked like in the past."

This year Beshear has made the list.

The article highlighted some of his achievements this year.

"The Democrat spoke of “one Kentucky” and cited the Bible’s story of the Good Samaritan. Perhaps more importantly, he pointed to the billions in federal dollars that he has brought to his rural state," the article read.

It also focused on him being on the shortlist as a possible running mate for Vice President Kamala Harris.

Beshear thanks TIME on his social media account.

"I’m honored to be included on the 2024 #Time100Next list with such phenomenal people. This honor is a testament to the great work we’re doing in Kentucky and the rest of the world is noticing. Thank you, @TIME," Beshear said in his post.

Beshear is recognized among 99 other influential figures like Sabrina Carpenter, Victoria Monét, Rachel Reeves, Vince Staples and more.

"His commitment to reproductive rights has been as steady as his presence during a slate of floods and tornadoes, making the 46-year-old Beshear a winner of praise well beyond Kentucky," the article read.

You can read more and see everyone on the list on TIME's website.
