‘Kentucky Rushmore' mural repainted following vandalism

The words "racist," "homophobe," and "anti-Semitic" were painted in orange over Muhammad Ali's face on the mural Wednesday night.

LOUISVILLE (HWAS11) -- The "Kentucky Rushmore" mural in the highlands has been repainted after it was vandalized last week.

The words "racist," "homophobe," and "anti-Semitic" were painted in orange over Muhammad Ali's face on the mural Wednesday night.

Afterward, the words were painted over in white.

Over the weekend, Ali's face was touched up and a glove repainted over the white spray paint. Remnants of the vandalism are still visible, but less prominent.

LMPD is still investigating the vandalism.
