Kentucky State Police seeks tips in Officer Ellis’ 2013 murder

Officer Ellis was killed May 25, 2013, after just completing his shift. He was shot on Exit 34 at the Blue Grass Parkway.

KENTUCKY (WHAS11) -- It's been six years since the ambush murder of Bardstown Officer Jason Ellis.

Kentucky State Police is urging the public to keep sending their tips.

Officer Ellis was killed May 25, 2013, after just completing his shift. He was shot on Exit 34 at the Blue Grass Parkway.

State police said he stopped to clear tree debris out of the roadway, not knowing it had been placed there deliberately to lure him out of his cruiser where he was gunned down.
