Grammy-nominated Louisville metal band performs on late-night show

Meet Knocked Loose, the Louisville band that's up for a Grammy

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — A Louisville band appeared on a late-night show on Tuesday to perform their Grammy-nominated song on national television.

Knocked Loose is nominated in the Best Metal Performance category for their song “Suffocate” featuring Poppy. It’s the band’s first-ever Grammy nomination.

The band, which got its start in Oldham County, performed the song on Jimmy Kimmel Live! on Nov. 26, 2024.

A video of the late-night performance has more than 100,000 views on YouTube.

If Knocked Loose wins their Grammy, they’ll become the second artist in the Louisville-area to win the prestigious award for a second year in a row.

Earlier this year, the Louisville Orchestra won Best Classical Instrumental Solo for its performance of “The American Project.”

Other artists nominated in the Best Metal Performance category include Judas Priest, Metallica, Spirit Box, and Gojira, Marina Viotti and Victor Le Masne.

The 2025 Grammy Awards ceremony will be held next February in Los Angeles.
