LOUISVILLE, Ky. — A Louisville bakery has officially opened its doors on Logan Street.
La Pana Bakery Y Café held its grand opening Saturday at its brick-and-mortar store.
The bakery previously opened in a small food stall at the Logan Street Market then moved to a tiny prep kitchen, a walk-up window and now a café.
Patrons can now sit down and enjoy favorites such as blueberry scones, lechecilla donut, apple strudels and more.
Chef Diego Hernandez, a fourth-generation baker, said the journey was “hard”, but the support kept the business going.
“We started with small equipment and little by little all the people were supporting us, the bakers, and all the people who are helping here, it's like a celebration for us and appreciate the people who have supported us,” he said.
According to La Pana’s Facebook page, the bakery carries traditions of Oaxacan bread making and inspiration from various experiences across Europe and South America’s bakeries.
La Pana Bakery Y Café is located at 991 Logan Street.
