LOUISVILLE, Ky. — A shelter in place order given to residents living along Bardstown Road in the Buechel neighborhood has lifted within an hour after it was issued.

The Louisville Metro Police Department's (LMPD) Bomb Squad was investigating an "incident" in the 4500 block of Bardstown Road, authorities said in a social media post just before 9:30 a.m.

LMPD said the scene was near several businesses and nearby residents were advised to shelter in place.

Within an hour, LMPD said the "all-clear" had been given and the shelter in place had lifted.

According to police, MetroSafe received a call around 7:30 a.m. regarding a suspicious package in the parking lot of an adult daycare center. The caller said a suitcase was left unattended and it had an "antenna and wires coming out of it."

When Sixith Division officers arrived, they found the suitcase and requested the bomb squad's assistance. It was later determined that there was not a bomb inside the suitcase.

"Normal activities can resume. Traffic flow should start becoming normal again in the area," LMPD shared at 10:30 a.m.

A department spokesperson said the investigation remains open.
