LOUISVILLE, Ky. — The Louisville Metro Police Department is looking for a suspect after a puppy was found burned on Friday, according to a post on their Facebook page.
They say around 9:15 a.m. Metropolitan Sewer District (MSD) workers on 10th street and Rowan Street saw a small fire underneath I-64.
When they got closer they saw the fire was actually a puppy inside a green basket.
Unfortunately, the puppy died from it's injuries.
MSD called LMPD and the animal cruelty unit to investigate.
LMPD says they don't know if the puppy was dead before or after it was set on fire, nor do they know the breed.
They are reviewing surveillance cameras from the area.
"Someone intentionally set fire to this dog, and we'd like to know who. As of right now, we have no suspects or leads," the post said.
They also said if anyone has doorbell camera footage that might have captured someone carrying this green basket, they'd like to see it.
