LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) – Louisville Metro Police confirmed there is an investigation ongoing with an officer connected to a youth program designed for kids who are interested in a career in law enforcement.

Per sources, WHAS11 has learned that Officer Brandon Wood is under investigation in connection to the Youth Explorer program.

It's unclear right now what the allegation is.

Late this afternoon, LMPD posted this statement on their Facebook page:

"We continue to stress that allegations of our members involved in criminal wrongdoing are very concerning and something we take quite serious. Our Public Integrity Unit received information that necessitated an investigation into an officer's behavior surrounding our Youth Explorer Program. At this time, the case remains an active investigation and to protect the integrity of the investigation we are unable to provide additional details."

The Boy Scouts of America released a statement:

"On background, I can share that we were contacted by the Louisville Metro Police Department Monday who alerted us of an investigation into an Associate Exploring Advisor for their post. Out of an abundance of caution, upon learning of the investigation, we revoked this individual’s registration as a volunteer in our organization."

As we learn more details we'll be sure to pass them along to you.
